Susan Moore

Susan Moore is widely recognized for her figurative work in painting, oil sticks, collage, photography and printmaking. Often depicting female figures and portraits with luminosity and texture, she explores the tensions between assertions of self and the quietude of anonymity.

Her subjects exude a strong sense of both intimacy and intensity, strength and mysterious interiority.

A professor at Tyler School of Art for many years, Moore has shown in numerous exhibitions and in the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The National Portrait Gallery, The New York Public Library and Woodmere Art Museum.
